Today is the end of my long, long fast to try to counteract some of the damage I did while on vacation last weekend...I ate two meals a day for a few days and definitely ate too much!
So I started this fast on Tuesday Evening at about 9pm and will end it tonight at about 5pm. That makes about 68 hours. Phew! I felt great though, no hunger, not weak...and now I feel much better. I was pretty bloated after all that indulging over the weekend!
Planning to have some yummy mexican food and a glass of wine outside on our new patio set tonight.
Intermittent fasting is so great for getting things back in line...even when you stumble.

Well done! :)
ReplyDeleteYou were looking for a substite for croutons in an older post. How about small pieces of very crispy bacon?
Great idea Cindell! Thanks!
DeleteI just found your blog through Pinterest and I'm loving it! I have been doing a lot of reading up on IF and have just started practicing it within the last few days. Like you, I struggle with snacking and junk food. From about 4pm (when I get home from work) until I go to bed is when I destroy my "diet" every day by grazing. Fasting from 4pm to about 8 or 9 the next morning just makes sense for me. And I love your Fast 5 page where you write about Common Sense. These are all the things I have long believed but have had to fight against with so many people out there in the fitness world being sheep and believing it just because a lot of people have said it. I have never bought into the whole idea of the body going into starvation mode after a few hours of not eating. Give me a break! Fasting makes sense, not only for weight loss, but just as a way of learning to practice self control in so many areas of life. Fasting takes away the obsession with food and the constant preparation of snacks and meals. I have A LOT of weight to lose, and this fasting thing makes the most sense for my life. I will be adding you to my blog roll for sure! http://thecourageouslife.blogspot.com Congrats on your great success!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment! So nice to hear that others agree with what I have been discovering.
DeleteGood luck with your weight loss! If you stick to it, you will certainly see results!
I may do a blog post later today with a shout-out to you. I've been reading more of your posts and I'm impressed with your success and your common sense, don't-be-afraid-to-buck-the-system approach to eating. Way to go!
