Plateau

So I have been doing Gluten Free for about a month, been working out 3-4 days a week, eating MUCH less sugar, juicing, intermittent fasting and not even indulging in gluten free substitutes and I am UP 3 pounds, and my clothes are still tight so it isn't the whole, "you've gained muscle, muscle weighs more than fat" thing...

Oh brother...

Who knows how all this stuff works...I was losing more weight when I was NOT exercising and enjoying cookies and pastries. I really don't get it.

I am not giving up though...going to stick to my schedule and my plan and schedule an appointment with the doctor to see what the hell is going on! So frustrating!

  1. I gained 14 pounds in about 8 months..I have NEVER gained that much weight since this weight loss journey..yes, 3 to 5 pounds, but they always came off..so today I am going to see the Dr. to find out what the results have to say...

  2. Hi there. Those plateaus can be terribly frustrating for sure, especially when you've been so conscientious! Have you heard about the 'potato diet hack'? It's been running around on low-carb/paleo sites like wildfire and many people have had great success using it to get past a plateau. (If you google, you get a whack of hits about it). The science behind it seems very sound (check out Whole Health Source), and you might find it useful. Best of luck on your journey!

  3. I've been gluten free for about 6 months and I feel amazing from it. I do a lot of weight training too and I tend not to lose weight from it. I find personally, if I had in some high intensity cardio at the end, usually 5-10 mins this helps shift fat.

  4. After 100 days of IF it seemed I hit a plateau also. Was eating 4 hours, fasting 20 hours, and losing 1-2 lbs per week, then my progress slowed. Now trying an IGOB131 supplement called LeptiBurn, and am back to 1 lb per week fat loss with no loss of lean mass.
